In February 2024, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship launched the Rashtriya Udyamita Vikas Pariyojana, a significant initiative aimed at uplifting street vendors and small shopkeepers across the nation. 1. Pilot Phase: The project will commence its journey through 20 Centers of National Institute of Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development (NIESBUD) in Noida and 10 Centers of Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in Guwahati.
2. Trainer and Mentor Pool: NIESBUD and IIE will spearhead the creation of a proficient pool of trainers and mentors. Representatives from various sectors like government, PSUs, industries, banks, and successful entrepreneurs will engage with trainees, offering invaluable insights and guidance.
3. Udyamita Kendra: Leveraging expertise from esteemed institutions like NIESBUD, IIE, and others, the project will establish Udyamita Kendras. These centers will enrich entrepreneurship training programs with a wealth of knowledge and practical insights.
4. District-Level Focus: Initial implementation will focus on selected districts, with a special emphasis on ensuring 40% participation by women. A robust monitoring mechanism will ensure progress tracking, impact assessment, and adherence to quality standards.
